Entitlements, Taxes, Mandates and the US Constitution.

As we enter into another election cycle, I can’t help but feel that our nation is splitting into Two Camps, One of Progressive Socialist Liberals or of Conservative Fiscally Responsible Small government types.

I no longer look at politicians, political parties, Democrat caucuses or Republican caucuses as an answer to the problems of state which were promulgated as far back as the corrupt Andrew Jackson administration instigated by Martin van Buren.

It is becoming very clear that after so many years living with the Hope that politicians would change, it is even clearer today, that money, power and survivorship as a politician is all that most politicians concern themselves with, regardless of political label.

Back on point, one finds himself defending the ‘natural GOD given rights’ of men or the ‘social justice rights’ afforded by law i.e., the argument over Entitlements.

Entitlements’ right, wrong or indifferent are splitting our nation into those who believe that ‘responsibility, ambition and motivation’ are lacking with those who, in some cases, have been receiving benefits for generations and are nothing more than ‘institutionalized slaves’ of the Federal Government, those that are truly deserving, those that believe compassion for the indigent has no bounds or financial limits and those that have politicized entitlements for their political ambitions.

Entitlements in and of themselves are rooted in ‘social justice’ and have NO Constitutional standing whatsoever regardless of how vigorously the Liberals argue that it does under the ‘Commerce’ clause of the COTUS.

i.e., Entitlements, regardless of which POTUS or administration that is given credit or should take credit for beginning this un-constitutional drain on US citizens’ tax money, It is clear that it has from the beginning been flawed and replete with ulterior motives for the benefit of politicians during election cycles and NOT the beneficiaries.

Today, pushing the envelope even further, the present POTUS and administration along with cowardly politicians in the early morning hours of day, passed an extraordinary ‘entitlement’ that penalizes those who have employer or self-paid healthcare insurance, with a Federally ‘Mandated’ healthcare law that will certainly ‘split’ our nation into factions, For, Against and Indifferent.

The question is this, do the politicians who voted for this Bill, ever consider the long range ramifications on those US Citizen Tax Payers who have to PAY for this Bill ?

Did these same politicians stop to think that court after court will start to chop this bill into pieces and ultimately declare it un-constitutional?

The Fight begins…first with the states claiming 10th Amendment Rights.

Seventy percent of American’s voiced displeasure with the ‘new’ healthcare bill dubbed, Obama Care, and, for good reason.  2800 pages, as Nancy Pelosi stated, “We have to pass the bill to see what’s in it”

That statement in and of itself is one of Ignorance and Stupidity coming from then Speaker-of-the-House Pelosi.

As time went on, more and more of this ‘bill’ became known to the general populace and the majority did not like what they were reading or hearing about ‘Obama Care’

The CBO, (The Congressional Budget Office), published facts and figures and more facts and figures, about the ‘COST’ to the US Tax Payers and politicians from both labels spun them in this direction and that direction.

Obama Care along with TARP and the Bailouts of Chrysler, GM, Wall Street and the Unions were starting to rip our nation into pieces. I refer now to Abraham Lincoln’s speech which follows as I draw a similarity and conclusion to this article;

Mr. President and Gentlemen of the Convention,

If we could first know where we are, and whither we are tending, we could then better judge what to do, and how to do it.

We are now far into the fifth year, since a policy was initiated, with the avowed object, and confident promise, of putting an end to slavery agitation.

Under the operation of that policy, that agitation has not only, not ceased, but has constantly augmented.

In my opinion, it will not cease, until a crisis shall have been reached, and passed.

"A house divided against itself cannot stand." I believe this government cannot endure permanently half slave and half free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved; I do not expect the house to fall; but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other. Either the opponents of slavery will arrest the further spread of it, and place it where the public mind shall rest in the belief that it is in the course of ultimate extinction, or its advocates will push it forward till it shall become alike lawful in all the States, old as well as new, North as well as South.

Abraham Lincoln

The similarity and conclusion that I would like for you to pay attention to is this;

In Lincoln’s day, the nation was divided over the constitutionality of Slavery, the 10th Amendment, the Territories, the rights of Slave owners’ and the Individual rights and freedoms particularly those of African-American’s and their offspring.

“All men are created equal” and endowed with unalienable rights. Are They?

History writes that the ‘Civil War’ and The ‘Emancipation’ Proclamation of 1863 ended that argument, I ask, what will end our present day argument over ‘entitlements’?

My conclusion may be very different than yours, whereas I feel that until the ‘politicization’ of ‘entitlements’ is finally brought before the US Supreme Court and declared either Constitutional or not, we will be a nation divided.

A nation divided between those who want and or need ‘entitlements’ deservingly, those who have forgone their ‘responsibility’ to support themselves and live off of US Tax Payers’ forced labor, (Federal Income Taxes), those progressive socialists liberals who advocate for ‘entitlements’ as a matter of ‘rights’ and ‘social justice’ regardless of costs with those who subscribe to the constitutionality of such fiscally irresponsible laws and are detrimental to the legacy of present day American’s.

Your vote in 2012 for POTUS and members of congress will be a barometer of what will happen to these States United in short order. Either the Progressive Socialist Liberals take over our nation once and for all, (which has been their ultimate goal for over one hundred years) or our citizenry will finally come to the conclusion that Life, Liberty, the Pursuit of Happiness, Individual Rights, Fiscal Responsibility, and The COTUS is more important than any one politician or party.
